Risographed Posters

My partner and I are getting married (well, civil partner-ed) in September. Instead of wedding gifts we are asking for contributions towards our next cycle tour, but we feel weird about friends and family handing us money. So we came up with the idea of a pay-what-you-want Merch table, with the merch doubling up as favours.

I designed these posters to be risoprinted in two colours (yellow and blue) and based the design on places that were significant to us.

They were more or less successful thanks to the amazing folks at Risotto print studio in Glasgow. It was a really good example of the ways that not having an arts education can affect your practice, as people often assume you are able to do things you’ve never heard of (like use photoshop or illustrator). We may or may not have misspelt Calton Hill but we’ve patched it up now!

As a result we’ve finally invested in InDesign and I’ve been watching lots of tutorials – the excitement!
